MonaLisa Touch Vaginal Rejuvenation
What is MonaLisa Touch?
Atrophy of the vagina can lead to vaginal dryness, burning, painful intercourse and overall discomfort. Additionally, when women are pre-menopausal, or have given birth, they can experience urinary incontinence. To treat these unfortunate symptoms, thankfully there’s MonaLisa Touch.
MonaLisa Touch is a non-surgical, laser therapy treatment that works to promote vaginal health and prevent burning, dryness, painful intercourse and overall discomfort.* As a functional vaginal rejuvenation solution, this treatment prevents and resolves estrogen drops in the vaginal tissue, which usually occur during menopause or after childbirth.* This is done by reactivating the production of new collagen and re-establishing the earlier conditions of the vaginal mucosa (the mucous membrane of the vagina).
How does it work?
During the procedure, the MonaLisa Touch device is inserted into the vagina. The fractional, CO2 laser involved in the procedure acts on the vaginal walls to create indistinguishable microlesions that trigger a neocollagenesis process (the production of new collagen). As women age and give birth, their collagen (which provides strength and elasticity) will unfortunately deplete. With a new influx of collagen, the components of the vaginal mucosa will be more nourished and hydrated, and the lining will become thicker, more toned and elastic.*
The MonaLisa Touch laser is completely safe and painless; treatments only a few minutes and come with no side effects or recovery time.*
How many vaginal rejuvenation treatments are recommended?
At Bebla UroGYN & Aesthetics, we recommend a total of three treatments to be repeated at six-week intervals.* Most women experience immediate results after one treatment, but we recommend three to ensure that any improvements last eight months to a year.* After the first three treatments, we recommend that you return to our clinic in Modesto for one yearly, five-minute treatment.*
If you are treated, we ask that you abstain from sexual intercourse for a 48-hour period. You will be able to resume your other daily routines and activities immediately.*
